Our training approach is unique in that it allows for flexibility while maintaining the integrity of the principles being taught.  Our model is based on utilizing expert Six Sigma Master Black Belts to facilitate training in a mixture of classroom, workshop, and one-on-one settings.  We believe that training should coincide with real time application of the Six Sigma tools and techniques being taught.  Therefore, we have developed what we feel is a best in class method of teaching the principles of Six Sigma as they are being applied by the organization’s resources so learning and application efficiency is increased.

Course Overview
This course is designed to teach Six Sigma fundamentals and its application.  It is intended for full time improvement team project leaders.  Participants are trained and tested on their understanding and ability to apply the tools and techniques of all elements of the Six Sigma methodology.  The course is 15 days in duration and utilizes a combination of process improvement simulation, case studies, and application of tools to real project work to facilitate learning of principles and completion of project deliverables. Participants attend the training week and then in the subsequent 4-5 weeks before the next training week, apply tools to meet their project deliverables.  In addition, participants will have 6 months access to online course materials through Acuity Institute’s Black Belt training program (for knowledge sustainability).  Acuity’s Six Sigma Black Belt training course is the most complete program available in the marketplace.

Printed Course Books: Includes 5 separate books containing 1,400+ pages of Six Sigma tools and techniques, advanced statistics, project management, change management, exercises, and a process improvement simulation (Simco International Products - Project Simulation Case Study) to facilitate learning of principles and completion of project deliverables. 

Electronic Course Books – eBook: The eBook contains all the same content as the printed course books, is fully searchable and indexed.  It contains over 125 links to assist the user in quickly navigating to key tools and concepts. (Please note, to protect the electronic intellectual property of the materials, the user will not be able to copy from the eBook.) 

Simco International Products - Project Simulation:  The simulation is based on a hypothetical company that faces many of the same problems companies are dealing with today.  The simulation is designed to illustrate the entire business improvement effort through every phase of the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.  Individuals complete challenging exercises which build on previously learned tools and concepts taught in training.  When complete, practitioners have a significant perspective on what true business improvement means and a tangible “project story” that they can utilize throughout their process improvement efforts. There is no comparison of this simulation in the marketplace today.

Black Belt Advanced Certification: Acuity’s Advanced Certification Program is the most complete and robust certification program available for Black Belts.  The Advanced Certification Programs has 3 primary parts: 

Part 1 - Black Belt Certification Exam: The exam is intended to validate Black Belt Candidate proficiency with the Six Sigma tools and techniques.  The following highlights the Certification Exam. 

• The exam is administered online.  Examinees will need to have an active internet connection to complete the exam.
• The exam is open book.  Examinees may use any reference materials to complete the exam (i.e. training manuals, project materials, statistics books, etc.).
• While completing the exam, examinees are not permitted to communicate with anyone regarding the exam.  The exam is closed communication.
• It is strongly recommended that examinees use a statistical analysis software application to complete some of the exam questions.
• The exam is made up of 134 multiple choice, true/false, and problem solving questions.  The highest possible score for the exam is 134 points.
• A passing grade of 80% or more is needed to become Black Belt Exam Certified.
• Examinees have a maximum of 5 hours to complete the exam. 
• Once examinees complete the entire exam they will be notified immediately if they passed the exam.  Examinees will not have access to their answers.  This information is keep confidential.

Part 2 - Simulated Project Certification:  Acuity leverages the world class Simco International Project (which is completed in the classroom training environment) for Simulated Project Certification.  At Acuity we recognize that not every individual has the opportunity to immediately complete an actual Six Sigma project while completing their training, this is why we recommend Simulated Project Certification.  We are the only Six Sigma Training and Certification organization to offer Simulated Project Certification with the robust Simco International Project. 
While completing training, individuals will be required to complete project deliverables, develop project tollgate presentations, and answer questions from Master Black Belts about their simulated project results.  Upon completion of the project, Black Belt Candidates will submit the required documentation for Simulated Project Certification.  The submitted project will be reviewed by our panel of Six Sigma Experts.  The project must meet Acuity’s Simulated Project Certification requirements and be completed during the training timeframe.  There is no guarantee of Simulated Project Certification. 
Part 3 - Project Certification: Provides Black Belt candidates with the opportunity to demonstrate Six Sigma expertise by completing a Six Sigma Black Belt project in their organization.  Upon completion of their project, Black Belt Candidates will submit the required documentation for Project Certification.  The submitted project will be reviewed by our panel of Six Sigma Experts.  The project must meet Acuity’s Black Belt Project Certification requirements and be completed within 12 months from the kick-off of Black Belt training.  There is no guarantee of Project Certification.

SigmaXL Statistical Analysis Software License: SigmaXL is a leading provider of user friendly Excel Add-ins for Statistical and Graphical analysis. It is powerful but easy to use software that will enable the participant to apply many of the statistical and data analysis techniques taught in the Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control phases.
Other statistical analysis software applications can be substitute for SigmaXL if preferred (i.e. Minitab).
